Hi Shelby,
Great work on this! It has some great camera angles, lighting and you did a great job giving your robot a personality and emotion.
Is the narrator the scientist? If so, perhaps you could use "me" and "I" instead of "a scientist". I think the first act is a little long as the inciting incident (which I think is the robot switching on and the scientist being killed) happens almost at the halfway point but, apart from what could be solved with a little editing, your story is lovely. It is very dramatic and the ending is so bitter sweet. You should be very proud. Great job!

Hi Shelby, congratulations on your storyreel!! What a fascinating story, your narration and delivery are fantastic, and sound effects/pacing and artwork work super well! I absolutely love your apocalyptic theme and the robot who is trying to make sense of the world, itself and the other robots was so well done. The very end was poetic too, right after pulling the switch and deactivating one last time..The ending art was beauitful and tragic as well.. Lovely work!!

Hello Shelby,
I'm a sucker for sci-fi, I absolutely loved this. Very well paced, and I love the artwork. The spindly, jagged designs of the KR robots look cool, and I like how the story shifts to more visual storytelling when we get to the POV of the last KR. The last few moments were powerful too, especially the ending shot with the bed of flowers.
You also have a keen eye for interesting, dynamic shots! Even in the rough sketches I could envision the discomforting vibe you went with when the KR units were first being made. This has the makings of a fantastic short with some polishing put in. Excellent work!

Hi Shelby!!!
This is absolutely incredible!!!! You're able to show so much detail and information in your storyboard that's really compelling! I love how you were able to add so much into your story whilst still being able to have a clear understanding of everything going on! Congrats on completing such an amazing story!

Hey Shelby! I've been following your story for a couple of weeks now, I really like it!
I see big changes since your last version, before the doctor had very little protagonism, but now his interaction with the robots is much clearer.
Your story has it all! Robots, villains, humanity in danger, regret and kindness! I still wonder how you managed to put all that into a story! You have very good storytelling skills and your drawings are incredible! I wonder how you can make me feel so much compassion for a robot. I particularly like your drawing at 03:00, that perspective is incredible!
You have worked very hard to improve your story considering all the feedback you have received. You can be very proud of your work, it's great!
Congratulations on finishing the Xperiential program! :)

Despite knowing the ending already, that confrontation scene was so gripping that I was still rooting for KR to make it out of there! It goes to show how much I care for KR. Though, I think it would be more impactful if you began with the scientist sharing his regrets and then roll into the scene with the king. Nevertheless, this is still a great story and I'm so happy to have seen it from concept to the full storyreel. Congratulations, Shelby! You did it! :D

I liked the story.
The sound effects are very well timed.
And the main robot, although it does not have something graphic that distinguishes it from the others, has a very good character and it is very well understood where it is.
I particularly liked the shot of the broken glasses.
It just seems to me that act one has a lot of exposition, the story is more fluid when there is only the robot.

Very cool introduction setting, with the professor!
Oh, I see that's only in your text. Your video's narration makes sense, though for me the real impactful and engaging first shot is that of the scientist trapped in his tower telling his regrets. Have you considered making that your actual first shot?
Your drawings and narration are nice :)
"They were very ... good at their job" might sound odd to some people, but I think it's an amazing way of telling that they're destructive death machines without actually telling that. The madman-king-shot following conveys his madman-vibe well. To me, the shots aren't perfectly clear showing that the rise up to him, but that's okay. I do like the shot at 1:09 a lot, showing your process as much as the story.
Cool atmosphere difference within the story - his muted voice and the grey environment. Cool shot compositions - and I really like that the drawings are clearer here. Interesting choice to tell the robot the killswitch, it'll add tension!
heh, kaputt
"can't go out there, not like this" is nice in showing his regret.
ah crap they're taking him away...
Wait, I'm a bit confused, because you're saying "remain in hiding" but it also looks/sounds as if he's still working for them?
the shot at 3:00 is great
Cool that there's suddenly silence and beeps and the broken glasses, and his broken reflections, and echo's portraying the emptiness of the world.
Somehow the story goes somewhat fast to the "they're destroying that tower and he's stopping them", I guess I wasn't expecting it that fast? Maybe I was expecting more of him just wandering the world? (I'm wondering what if you'd start with shots of him exploring the world, then cutting/flashbacking to the scientist or the broken tower, but this works, too, maybe even better because the purpose is in the correct order now. I see you've put the shot of the dandelion at the end, which works wonders. Though it makes perfect sense that he powers down himself, I'm almost expecting him not to, and it's quite sad. Very nice ending shot!)
The shot at 4:36 is very cool, quite menacing!
There's a lot of value in the mysterious unknowing aspect of "a killer robot doesn't want to kill" that's at risk when you're determining that and showing how it happened, but you do really give it a sense of purpose and engaging storytelling even more than just that initial thought - which is quite difficult but very cool.

Thank you so much for the feedback! And oh my gosh I completely forgot to switch out the audio when the scientist gets grabbed in my sleep deprived state. Thank you so much for pointing that out. I’ll fix it and resubmit before the end of the day

A regretful scientist tells the tale of his mistakes to one final robotic KR unit he is building while they remain in hiding from the rest of the robot army. When they are discovered the scientist is disposed of, leaving the new robot on his own in this terrifying world with only the words of the scientist to go by.
Will our robot follow through on the scientist's final wishes, or join the other KR units in the destruction of the world's last hope?
This is where the special thanks would go! I’m assuming they will be a little longer this week, therefore, I designed extra space for them. If there is far more description and special thanks then there is space, this entire box becomes scrollable.
