This reel is amazing! I remember seeing an earlier draft of your story and I am so impressed with your camera movements and voice acting. The sound effects work really well, especially the splat of the cake. I love how his daughter moves under the tablecloth and you can feel how stressed her father is. Your character designs are so distinct and the lines are super clean! The birds were definitely a surprise when they came in to crash the party haha. Great job Marcus!

I really enjoyed the comedic moments throughout the story. The trapeze artists without a net line got me. As well as the baker motioning to his daughter to come down, to the attendees thinking he’s telling them to keep bowing. This was fantastic! Congratulations on your final submission.

Hi, Marcus! I'm so excited to finally watch this!
I know this is the final submission for the class, but I still wanted to provide a bit of feedback in case you decide to continue to work on the project beyond this course. But I honestly don't have anything new from my suggestions last week.
Overall, you've just done a great job taking an already strong story and smoothing out the animation, adding music, sound effects, and dialogue, and just overall improving the clarity and storytelling. It's a super cute story and easily one of my favorites in the class. You should be incredibly proud of what you've created here.

Hi Marcus! I’m so glad to see your final submission! I reviewed one of your submissions quite some time ago, and I see big improvements since then!
I totally love your art, it’s amazing. I also like that you have depicted the problems that a father encounters when he can not take care of her daughter, since that is a common problem even nowadays. The music that you’ve chosen is awesome as well!
The end of the story is really unexpected! I think you've done a very good job with this, as I was not at all expecting the king to be happy with the unusual outcome of his birthday party, rather I was expecting him to be very angry at him for messing everything up. Good surprise factor!
The only doubt I have is for what reason a small bird causes chaos at the party.
Great work and congratulations on finishing the Xperiential program!

Amazing work, though this is basically an animatic at this point :) I love how you turn the cameras perspective so smoothly. the story was very clear and the characters were loaded with personality. Awesome 3 act structure with some humour. the pigeon going in the knights helm was my favourite gag

Hi Marcus, wow! Soooo much effort went into this. This isn't a story reel, this is a full animated movie with some frames missing! I was not only impressed with the technical side of things (although they do deserve praise again and again), I liked the flow of the story. The three act structure is very clear, and the resolution is satisfying and funny. That pigeon flight sequence (ahem... a dove) is awesome as well, and it set up the knight slashing quite nicely. Everything seems ordered and clearly caused by what happened before it. I was a little unsure about why the chef quit, or why the hero had to babysit the girl, and I am a little unclear about the moral of the story... none of those are quite that important I think, because overall it is entertaining, exciting, and fun, and I know the message is there, even if it is not spelled out super clearly. Looking forward to seeing your work presented during the awards ceremony.

Thank you!! I did all the voices myself and tweaked a few by changing the pitch. I asked my wife to help but she doesn't like to hear her voice played back lol.
