This is a really nice story, I sounds like there is still a lot here to continue going forward!

The first person narration is a novel approach, just don't use it as a crutch to fall into telling your story over showing it (you didn't do that in your video). Nice swerve at the end. This is a world I'd like to visit.

I think the narration and the story starting in the middle is a great idea. Perhaps show some rumbling, a large dragon's shadow perhaps, to give the watcher a little hook.

I think something that will give the story some oomph is perhaps some foreshadowing of the hug being what solves the test. You already showed the bear hug with his parents. Maybe show that everyone in the pirate crew greets like that? To me, it seemed slightly anticlimactic that Hunter, without any rhyme or reason, decided to choose to hug the dragon, other than hearing from his dad that nothing is ever expected.

I think your world has a lot of potential! Perhaps seeing what other roles the memory portals play in their civilization/culture would be interesting, since it seems like they have the power to conjure them whenever. Great job on this!

I really liked the storytelling. Great visuals too! I liked how it built up to the discovery of the location of where the dragon was and how at the end the conclusion was that it turned into a pet.

Hello,

Congratulations on your submission!

It is very clear that you spent a long time thinking about the world of your story. I really enjoyed the idea of memory portals and galactic pirates. I'm sure you have a lot of visual ideas on how to show that world and I look forward to seeing them.

This is a great set up for an interesting story. We get to know the characters and their goals well and you did a great job of getting the audience intrigued. The story world is also showcased enough that we look forward to seeing more of that as well. Looking forward to seeing where you take this!

Just so you are aware - at 1:26 I think there may be an audio layering issue. Other than that the audio and video were synched up. The humor and tone of your story came across loud and clear.

Overall, way to complete the course and great work on your submission!

I liked your story reel a lot! What first struck me was the narration, really fun to listen to Hunter self-ironically telling his story! I liked the premisse of the hug being the thing that made him pass the test, it was a good conclusion!

Hunter is explaining how he meet his dragon/lizard pet and became a guardian!

This is a still work in progress and I hope to continue to develop this story. Thank you for watching!

This is where the special thanks would go!  I’m assuming they will be a little longer this week, therefore, I designed extra space for them. If there is far more description and special thanks then there is space, this entire box becomes scrollable.

Special Thanks:
