Hi Gina,
Fiddleton is so adorable and funny!! Your drawings are so dynamic and full of life, when he moves about the world, bending and bouncing—So good!! The soft shading really adds to Fiddleton’s mood and arc as he finds different ways to fit in. The beginning part was so funny!! Your sound design and music was amazing, and I loved that clarinet/violin leit motif you have whenever Fiddleton is disappointed with his plans or down.. And your environmental art and perspective compositions gives such a nice sense of space too..It really shows how big this world is to him. Wonderful job and congratulations! I can’t wait to see where you take Fiddleton!

I absolutely loved it!!
The way you portray the violin's emotion through drawing and sound. How Fiddleton went thought his journey of purpose (I'm really glad he had a happy ending). Your animation is especially impressive with consistency since it's hand drawn and from personal experience I know how hard that is.
Your final was amazing and I'm glad to have experienced your work. :)

Hi, Gina!

I know this is the final submission for the class, but I still want to provide a bit of feedback in case you decide to continue to work on the project beyond this course. Hopefully the notes are helpful, but as always, feel free to ignore any that don't match your vision. And most importantly, congratulations on finishing your storyreel!

I still absolutely love your art! It's awesome to still see non-digital art. A computer just can't generate the awesome textures you achieve here.

I'm not sure if the image with the woman knocking the dust off the music case is new or just better emphasized with the added sound effects, but either way, it really helps to sell the idea that she hasn't opened it in a very long time.

Instead of the ticking clock, which sounds a bit artificial since it's hard to hear a watch tick without putting your ear up to it, you might consider having a distant honk as if someone is waiting for her in a car outside. That would still give her a reason to hurry up and leave, but might feel a bit more natural. It's certainly not bad as is, but I think it would just be slightly better with this change.

It so much clearer that Fiddleton is trying to play himself around 1:15 now that you've added sound and shown the scraggly music notes! Really nice work!

You've done such a great job leading Fiddleton from one thing to the next when he's trying to figure out his purpose!

Overall, this is a really lovely story filled with great art. You've really done a good job editing it and adding in the sound effects and music as well. You should be super proud of what you've accomplished here, and I'm glad I was around to be able to watch it :-)

Hi Allen!! Thanks for all the help! Good point on the watch sound effect ran out of time finding one that matches haha, but that is a good suggestion.
Yes the dust on the case was new, you or someone else's suggestion:) thank you for the positive feedback!! You have made great suggestions along the way. Thanks for watching and commenting!

Hi Gina! I’m so glad to see your final submission!

You already know this, but I totally love Fiddleton’s character design, he’s so adorable! I think that you’ve done a brilliant job with your visuals, this is one of the best submissions where the story is perfectly understood without the need of any voice over.
I also really appreciate that you took last week’s feedback so seriously, I completely love the sequence where Fiddleton tries to play music and he fails!

I have really enjoyed watching the evolution of your story over the weeks. Congratulations on finishing the Xperiential program!

Final story reel! Thank you to everyone who provided feedback:) hope you like it and thanks for watching!

Act 1:
- Once upon a time, there was an abandoned violin, closed up in his case for several years..
- Day after day, he stayed locked up in his dark case, unused, and forgotten.
- One day, as his owner packs up for college, she notices her old violin case and opens the lid.
- After a moment of thought on a hobby that never was, she looks at her watch, closes the lid (the name Fiddleton scribbled on the front), and pushes it aside.
- She leaves the house and drives away to college.
- Suddenly, the violin case pops open with the push of a bow. Fiddleton hops out.
- Fiddleton looks around the room for the first time. He looks suspiciously at himself in the mirror.

Act 2:
-He instinctively tries to play himself but is quickly deterred by the screaching sound of his strings. That can't be right.
-Fiddleton curiously explores his new environment.
- After failing at drawing, ripping open a pillow, and trying on a lampshade, he decides to wander into the hallway.
- Because of that, Fiddleton notices a long object vacuuming the carpet and trys to imitate that.
-Failing once again, he sadly stumbles into a bathroom only to cause more trouble.
-Feeling a bit "flushed," he returns to the bedroom and sees an open window.
-He decideds to continue his adventure and pushes himself over to the window, flops himself out, and lands in a bush.
- In the yard, the violin notices a small hole in the fence and peers through to see a neighbor
-This object seems useful to Fiddleton, so he gives raking a try. Failing at this, he notices another neighbor gardening. This must be something Fiddleton can do.
-To his disappointment, the sun is a bit sweltering and dirt doesn't seem to be a good fit for him.
-He then notices, a school bus heading toward the corner. He follows kids onto the school bus. He quickly hides under the seat to avoid strange glances.
- Once at school, Fiddleton wanders around for a bit unseen trying more activities. After multiple failures and getting stuck in gum, he bursts into a rage.
- Exhausted and ready to give up, a student walks by with an object that looks oddly similar to himself.
- A bit hesitant, he bravely decides to follow this object to an auditorium door.
- Fiddleton hears a sound hes never heard before and peers into the window in awe...

Act 3:
- In the dark auditorium, he makes his way closer to the bright stage.
- suddenly a student notices the violin laying flat in the aisle.
- The student decides to pick up the instrument, tune it, and takes his place on stage.
-Fiddleton is excited seeing the other violins on stage. As the student plays Fiddleton, he finally recognizes who he is and realizes music IS his true purpose! He just needed a bit of help.
Fiddleton is finally happy with his new home.

The end:)

This is where the special thanks would go!  I’m assuming they will be a little longer this week, therefore, I designed extra space for them. If there is far more description and special thanks then there is space, this entire box becomes scrollable.

Special Thanks:
