I love the visuals! Your camera angles and close-ups, color choices, character expressions, and of course the anime style really captured my attention, and gave me some idea of what each of the characters were thinking! However, I had some difficulty trying to follow the story, my only suggestion would be to add some dialogue to the two main characters; they don’t have to be extensive, but just enough for to give clarity to the important scenes (especially when the characters are interacting) and for viewers to follow the story more easily. Other than that great job and congrats on finishing your story!

I can definitely see the anime inspirations and the dramatic close-ups are extremely well done too, I also love how you utilize angles to your advantage. And the concept is so subtle and yet as an audience, I can easily follow along and understand the story as a whole. And the shading! Honestly this is just fantastic all around and heartbreaking!

Hey team this is my first time seeing your project! Wonderful job at making it this far. The audio and illustrations are amazing. I am confused on two things. The first part is when the main character befriends the short haired girl she removes her wraps and can see her hands, but when it rains she her wraps go back on and she begins going transparent again. I am also confused on the progression of time. One minute it is sunny and the next is the following day and its raining. Helen and the main character are best friends from childhood, but Helen gets a phone call the main character feels neglected(?). I am wondering why she would be upset for Helen getting a phone call. I really loved the visuals. Betsy Lam teach me your ways. You two make a great team. Once again congratulations on finishing.

Betsy and Christopher! Your short is beautiful! Both the art and storytelling have so much detail and craft. From the start, what stood out to me the most was your use of sound to help guide the story and inform the viewer. There were a few slides that I may have shortened throughout the story to help quicken the pacing ever so slightly. The angles you chose to convey felt spot on—With a wide variety of detailed shots, closeups, as well as wide-angles. Really really well done!!

Although I love how there was no talking within the short, there were a few instances I was eager to hear them speak to each other, such as the conversation between the two best friends in the rain, and right before that when her friend was visiting and on the phone. I was a bit unsure what made the main character run away from the friend and what she may have said on the phone to upset her.

I loved the symbolism behind the character becoming transparent—I could truly feel her longing for friendship and the desire to not be alone. I could also feel her warmth as we watched it be restored by her friend, genuinely caring for her and wanting to be by her side.

Love the thought and care behind all aspects of this short. Thank you so much for sharing this story with us ♥️

I love the art used in this story. It was simplistic yet very effective with its use of lighting. There is not much of a difference between the two main characters which can get confusing as the story plays out. I would suggest using words to further enhance the story because at times it can get disorienting. You both used sound effects very well and created this polished look to the story. Overall, your artistic skills really show through this amazing piece!!

PHENOMENAL art! You have a knack for character design, camera work, lighting, angles, and conveying the perfect amount of information in each scene.

EXCELLENT use of simple and clear staging and lighting.

GREAT use of SFX. This took a lot of work! It really adds to the polished look and feel of the final product. Seriously pro stuff.

FANTASTIC editing and pacing. Perfectly timed in real-time, paced like a professional final product.

I love this modern take on “The Invisible Man” with your unique style and skillset. You should be absolutely proud to have this piece in your portfolio. I wouldn’t be surprised if you place in the top 3 for this course.
